One thing is for sure; you won’t get bored while strolling through this walkway!

What is San Antonio River Walk?

San Antonio Riverwalk is a 15-mile walkway that starts from the top, at E. Hildebrand Ave in the city center, and goes all the way to the south of the city at Mission Espada. You’ll also get to see the downtown area during 5 miles of this journey.

The History Behind San Antonio River Walk

This network of walkways was primarily built in the 1920s to serve as a sewer system for floods prevention during storms. Later on, it was developed into a 3-mile Riverwalk with a handful of restaurants along the way.

Today, the walkway has expanded to 15 miles and includes countless hotels, restaurants, historic sites, theme parks, and entertainment centers.

Are There Any COVID-19 Restrictions?

Fortunately, the San Antonio River Walk remains in full spirits during this pandemic, too, as long as you’re following the SOPs. You should be wearing a mask and avoiding close contact. Besides that, you’re free to roam around and visit any place.
